To many of us in Trench Town, the Restoration
Christian School is more than a learning institution. It is a light that
brings light and restoration to the less fortunate lost in hopelessness.
This institution has truly touched my life
in a most significant way. Constructed on the principles of God, this
school has helped in building the platform on which I thrive.
Although I had graduated from one of Jamaica’s
top ranking high schools, with enough credits to get me a good job, I
could only find one at McDonald’s flipping hamburgers. Little did
I know that going to the Restoration Center for a recommendation to work
at McDonald’s would result in my being accepted as a respected teacher
in my own community.
It is awesome that an institution like this
not only rescues hopeless children but also grabs and builds confidence
and self-esteem in adolescents and young adults slipping down a path of
hopeless and despair.
I am happy and honoured to be a part of
a family working together in taking individuals from a hopeless position
to one where they see endless possibilities.
